First Time Skydivers

There are two ways to make your first jump here at Skydive Sacramento. One is to jump in Tandem with one of our USPA rated Instructors. The other is through our Accelerated Free Fall Program (AFF).

A Tandem Skydive is where you and your instructor go into free fall together. You’ll be attached to your instructors parachute system with a harness that is specially designed for skydiving. Your instructor will give you a briefing on what you’ll need to do in order to exit the plane and experience the thrill of human flight! For more information on Tandem Skydiving, click here »

The Accelerated Free Fall Program, also referred to as AFF, is a class that will get you on track to becoming a skydiver, if that is your goal. It is not necessary to go through the entire course and become a skydiver in order to take the first jump course. This course is for anyone who wants to make a skydive “unattached” to an instructor, or anyone who wants to make the progression and become a licensed skydiver. The first jump course consists of a 4 to 6 hour ground course, where you will learn how to exit the plane, get into a stable free fall position, maintain altitude awareness, deploy your own parachute, and land safely. At the end of the course, you will get into the plane with two instructors who will jump with you and help guide you through your first jump experience!
